Local game data
V2 game count, personal best, daily best, and best combo are saved in localStorage under jinxed-solo-v2. Old v1 records are left untouched. Typed answers are used in memory to score your game and are not intentionally uploaded by this application.
Discovery and progression data
The discovery journal, XP, achievements, daily goals, and daily streak are stored locally under jinxed-progress-v1. This includes accepted answer words grouped by category. It is saved as you play, so discoveries can survive leaving mid-game. This journal is not sent to our application server. Custom Analytics events may include discovery counts, XP earned, and streak length, but not journal words. Clearing site data clears both the journal and game records.
Friend challenge links
A challenge link includes a rules version, random or daily seed, three prompt IDs, and your final score. It does not include your typed answers or a player name. The payload is in the URL fragment and is decoded by the recipient’s browser. Sharing copies a link; it does not publish or send a message. Any person with the link can read or modify its self-reported target.
Google Analytics
On jinxedgame.com and www.jinxedgame.com, we use GA4 measurement ID G-YM5GM8FWFK for page visits, game starts, completions, and successful challenge copying. Custom events may include mode, rules version, score, answer count, combo length, discovery counts, XP earned, streak length, journal opening, a fresh-brew action, and whether a shield was used, but not the answers you type. Google Analytics may process URLs, device and usage information, and cookies. Google signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled. Analytics is not enabled on localhost or the hosted preview domain. You can block it using browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Deleting records
Clear this website’s site data in your browser to remove local scores. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent saving records, but you can still play. Deleting records does not revoke a challenge link you already shared.
